  What You Will Learn Class Structure
In Self Defense students learn simple and easy techniques that will help them create and restore balance to reduce the stress from living in an increasingly violent world. This is achieved through empowerment. We encourage confronting fear, using a defensive act with a minimal amount of force/energy. Our teaching style uses the energy of the attacker to fight back. Students are encouraged to confer with the instructors if they have been victims of violent encounters as our teachers are licensed in providing clinical therapy that will help empower the student with the tools to help deal with their feelings. If desired experiences of this type can also be shared with the class in order to universalize one's feelings.

Classes will begin each time with "bowing-in" (will be explained
at the start of class) and several gentle postures and stretches
Classes are structured so that each "bowing-in" may be
different with each class depending on teaching content.
These are intended to prepare the body for particular
SD techniques.
