Daniel took his first yoga class as a freshman in college,
back in 2003. It was typical "gym-class" yoga, and though
it was enjoyable, he didn't learn about its therapeutic and
healing benefits until much later. Throughout college, he
studied many spiritual paths from the east and west, and
was a big self-improvement junkie, gobbling up books by
Deepak, Tolle, Rajneesh/Osho, Dyer, and a whole host of
less famous, but no less interesting characters. Anything
unique, esoteric, non-conforming, and capable of jolting
him out of long-established thinking patterns and
assumptions, he studied. After a while he realized that
he wasn't really getting anywhere; he kept reading and
learning, but his life situation wasn't changing. That's when
he understood the importance of his body, and the essentia-
lness of learning to ground himself with a daily physical
practice. He learned that all healing begins in the body, and
that's when he decided to delve fully into yoga, and become a
teacher. He took the Yama Therapeutics 200-Hour training
course at the Yogaville Ashram in Virginia, and awaits his full certification pending the completion of an 8-week teaching
internship. As a graduate from George Washington University
with a degree in psychology, Daniel hopes to weave together
the ancient wisdom of the yogic path with the
modern under-
standing of the mind and emotions, in order to create a truly
holistic method of healing to help humanity. Currently, in his
spare time, he enjoys reading, bike riding, exploring forests,
cooking, weightlifting, zen, and of course, yoga!
